Egg Free Cookies

Published by Matt

I discovered these by accident

75%

Ingredients

  • NO EGGS!
  • 12oz Self Raising Flour
  • 8oz Soft Margarine
  • 8oz Caster Sugar
  • 2oz Dark Chocolate Drops (or anything else you fancy putting in; smarties, white chocolate drops, raisins etc.)

Method

1 - Mix the ingerdients together in a big bowl, use your hands to knead the dough, it shouldn't be at all crumbly, so add a little more margarine if it is.

2 - Take a small ball of dough, about the size of 1 and a half ping pong balls and squeeze it so it's a circle about 1.5cm thick

3 - Place on a greased tray.

You can make between 16 - 22 cookies, so use 2 trays.

4 - Cook in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 15 mins.

5 - Eat them while they're hot! Taste magic with a glass of milk :)

I love these cookies! I changed the recipe a bit and they were delicious. If crumbly i suggest adding milk because it makes it less crumbly and adds a lovely flavour.

Didn't have any chocolate chips, so i put in a spoonful or two of nutella and a spoonful of cocoa powder. Also used regular granulated sugar as opposed to caster.

didn't mix all that well at first, but a little bit of water added to the mixture made it mix perfect.

cooked for about 25 minutes at gas mark 6 and they came out brilliant!

i recommend this recipe to anyone looking for something sweet and easy to bake but don't have eggs. Also, don't be afraid to add a few extras :)

My 11 year old daughter and i had a good time making these. We liked the recipe because we had no eggs. It worked. Some of the cookies were a little on the thick side but tasted like cakes. We added a few porridge oats and currants for good measure. Have fun!

Had loads of fun making them! Made a huge millie's cookie outta one half, and the other half made 12! Maybe reduce the ingredients a bit by half so it doesn't end up feeding the 5000. Ahaha, ye im a student and they're awesomely epic! :) - naomi x
