Flapjacky Goodness

really easy comfort food



  • This makes around 25- 30 flapjacks
  • 350g butter
  • 2 generous tbsp golden syrup
  • 175g light soft brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 75g plain flour
  • 375g oats
  • This is a good basic recipe which you could add other things to, heres some ideas:
  • Fruit: add raisens, sultanas or chopped dates
  • Chocolate: add 100g of chopped chips
  • Banana: 1 mashed banana added into the wet ingredients.
  • Seeds: 75g of seeds, sesame or pumpkin are particuarly good
  • Ginger: 75g finely chopped crystallised ginger


1. Preheat the oven to 180c

2. Place the butter, golden syrup, sugar and vanilla extract in a large saucepan. Bring up to a simmer and stir allowing the butter to melt. When the mixture is smooth take off the heat and add the flour and oats.

3. Spread into a baking dish.

4. Bake in an oven (not too close to the top or they will burn) and cook until golden. Divide into slices while still warm and allow to cool. :-)
