Quick Easy Sponge Cake

Couple of ingredients yum too



  • 4oz butter
  • 4oz sugar
  • 4oz self raising flour
  • 2 eggs
  • pinch of icing sugar
  • pinch of baking powder
  • icing sugar to finish and decorate.


1.Add butter & sugar in bowl and mix.

2. Sieve flour & baking powder in.

3. Then add eggs.

4.Mix all together till creamy and thick.

5. Pour into a tin.

6. Bake at gas mark 4 for 20ish minutes or till it springs back up when touched.

7. Leave to cool.

8. Dust with icing sugar to finish

    The method isn't clear. What size "tin" are you even supposed to use? Aren't you supposed to use a beater when mixing the ingredients? Also, not everyone has a gas oven, if that's what a "gas mark" is supposed to mean....
