These dorm friendly granola bars are the perfect snack to have on hand in your room. They are packed with protein and other great nutrients to keep you going throughout your busy day. I love to make these at the beginning of the week and store them in the fridge for a quick snack between classes.
When I’m at school I make these dorm friendly granola bars all the time and my roommates love them, the bars always last for way less time than we had expected. We also switch up and play with the recipe all the time which can be fun.
These dorm friendly granola bars are awesome because they are so customizable. You can make these with whatever add-ins you may have on hand. Sometimes I like to throw in some chocolate chips or walnuts, but the options are endless. Instead of dried cherries, you could sub in any other dried fruit like raisins, apricots, pineapple, or blueberries. You could also add in flax seeds, sunflower seeds, or any nuts.
I first started making these bars when I saw a Tiktok video of a mom who swore by making granola bars at home because they were so easy. After watching her video I felt inspired to get in the kitchen and make a version of my own.
The add-ins aren’t the only place to switch up the recipe either. Feel free to use any nut butter you have on hand. I’ve done these with peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, and even sunflower seed butter, and they were phenomenal each time. These dorm friendly granola bars are great because they don’t require any baking at all. As long as you have a freezer you can make these tasty and nutritious treats.
Speaking of freezers and no-bake treats, these No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites also featured on Student Recipes are to die for.

The only constant in these dorm friendly granola bars for me each time I make them is the oats, otherwise I switch up and play with the flavors constantly. This combination of flavors has to be my favorite though. The tartness from the dried cherries compliments the honey and vanilla flavors so well. I also love the richness of the almond butter and the nice crunch from the whole almond. The coconut flakes are also a great addition because the flavor they add is subtle but nice and sweet.
When you put these dorm friendly granola bars in the freezer I recommend using a piece of parchment paper on your tray to avoid most of the cleanup. Especially if you are making these in a dorm, you definitely want to avoid as much mess as you can. I love these single parchment paper sheets from Bakers Signature.
