Easy, Inexpensive Students Pasta Bake

Tomato pasta bake with bell peppers or any other vegetables of your choice
Difficulty Level: easy
Ingredients
- *250g pasta (tesco value pasta 500g pack it was roughly 40p not sure)
- *jar of pasta sauce (440g) (tesco value pasta sauce, 39p)
- *1 or 2 sliced raw bell peppers (i used 1 as it was the last one left)
- *1 diced onion (optional)
- *herbs or spices of choice (optional)
- i used 1tsp cumin
- grated cheese to top (optional)
- toasted bread (optional)
- 1 clove of garlic minced or finely chopped
Instructions
1.) pour the dry pasta and jar of pasta sauce into a reasonably small baking dish (doesn’t matter too much as long as everything fits)
then add any seasoning if you want, and combine everything so it’s evenly coated.
2.)top with the vegetables and garlic and fill the empty jar you previously used up to the label (roughly) with water, it doesn’t matter if it fills the dish to the top, as long as the majority of the pasta is covered. Add half a teaspoon of salt
3.)in a preheated oven at 200 c (preheat for roughly 10 minutes)
place the baking dish in the middle of the oven
4.) after 25 minutes, stir the pasta bake, it wont be cooked yet but if you want to add cheese this is the time to do so, then leave in the oven for another 20 minutes)
season with salt and pepper and serve with toasted bread if you’re feeling extra fancy 😉
i toasted some bread with mine just to make more of a meal out of it, this should make about four servings, or two if you’re a hungry bloke! Aha
this whole meal should cost you roughly £2 without cheese, or roughly £3.50 with. It’s also filling
