One Pot Hot Dog Pasta Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 10 to 12 ounces of hot dogs, sliced into rounds
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
- 1 can diced of tomatoes, 14.5 ounces, undrained
- 2 cups of chicken broth or water
- 12 ounces of penne pasta
- 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning or dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt, plus more to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 3/4 cup of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for topping
- 2 tablespoons of chopped green onions or parsley
One Pot Hot Dog Pasta Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Slice the hot dogs and add them to the pot. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring often, until lightly browned.
- Add the diced onion and cook for 2 minutes, until they start to soften.
- Stir in the garlic and tomato paste. Cook for 1 minute more.
- Add the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, penne pasta, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir the ingredients well.
- Bring the ingredients to a boil and then lower the heat to medium-low, cover with the lid slightly cracked. Cook for 14 minutes and stir every few minutes so the pasta does not stick.
- When the pasta is tender, reduce to a low heat and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
