Ingredients

  • 2 slices of white bread
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 large spoonful butter/margerine/spread
  • Some mixed herbs
  • Grated cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat the oven to about 180’C

  2. Put the butter and herbs into a microwaveable bowl. Crush the clove of garlic into the bowl. Put into the microwave for about 10 seconds (or until slightly melted but not so it’s really watery) and stir.

  3. Place the slice of bread onto pieces of foil that will fold over to cover the tops and place on a baking tray. Spread the garlic butter mixture onto the bread evenly then cover with the foil. Put on the bottom shelf of oven for about 10 mins.

  4. If using cheese, do for the same time but 5mins through, uncover the foil, put on the grated cheese evenly and put back on the bottom shelf for the remaining 5mins. (or until the cheese is partially melted)
