When it comes to brunch, lunch, or even a snack late in the day, nothing comes close to the flavorful simplicity of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. However, if you haven’t been grilling it, you’re missing out.
A grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich takes that childhood favorite and gives it a warm, crispy texture. The gooeyness of the filling makes it feel far more indulgent, and all it takes is a little bit of butter and 8 minutes of grilling. Simple.
Check out the ingredients and cooking steps below.
Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons of butter, softened
- 2 slices of white sandwich bread
- 2 teaspoons of fruit jelly, any flavor
- 1 teaspoon of peanut butter
Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Instructions
- Heat a skillet, griddle, or grill pan over medium heat, to around 350°F.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Flip the bread over so the buttered sides are facing down. We recommend doing this on a plate or easy washable surface.
- Spread jelly on the plain side of one slice and spread peanut butter on the plain side of the other slice.
- Place the slices together with the peanut butter and jelly in the middle.
- Put the sandwich in the hot skillet or grill pan and cook for about 4 minutes per side. Cook until the bread is golden brown and crisp.
- Remove the sandwich from the pan and let it sit for 1 minute before slicing.
