Harry Potter Butterbeer Copycat Cocktail

Nothing screams fall like this Harry Potter butterbeer copycat cocktail. You have to make this recipe for yourself the next time you cozy up to a Harry Potter movie.

Ingredients

• 8oz whole milk
• 8oz cream soda
• 1 tsp butter extract
• 1 shot of dark rum
• Whipped cream
• Butterscotch syrup

Instructions

STEP 1:

In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm milk, for about 3 minutes.

STEP 2:

Remove from heat and add cream soda, butter extract, and rum. Mix well.

STEP 3:

Pour into a pint glass and top with whipped cream and butterscotch topping. Enjoy!

My roommates and I have been obsessed with Harry Potter this fall, and nothing pairs as well with the movie as Butterbeer. Since we aren’t going to go all the way down to Universal Studios in Florida for a Butterbeer we decided to make our own.

As someone who’s been to Universal and tried the real deal, I promise you that this Harry Potter Butterbeer copycat cocktail is just like the real thing. It’s silky, smooth sweet, and has the perfect butterscotch flavor. For this recipe, I opted to make a hot version of the Harry Potter Butterbeer copycat cocktail, but you could make this and just skip heating the milk in a saucepan and serve it with ice.

If you don’t have any cream soda on hand, you could do seltzer and also add in caramel extract, but my local grocery store didn’t have any caramel extract and did have cream soda so I felt that the cream soda would be best. The cream soda gives this Harry Potter Butterbeer copycat cocktail the perfect fizziness and makes you feel like you’re right in Hogsmeade at The Three Broomsticks.

This Harry Potter Butterbeer copycat cocktail was so easy to make, and I was shocked by how quickly it came together. It really only took five minutes from start to finish. The hardest part was waiting for it to cool down a little bit before we started drinking.
