Homemade Pork Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of ground pork
  • 1 apple, shredded ( I use my cheese grater)
  • Spices of your choice. I suggest basil, garlic salt, onion powder, rosemary and chives.
  • 1 Egg. **If you are lactose intolerant or don’t like eggs then I suggest using bread crumbs, it works just as well… about 1/2 a cup should do. 😉
  • Cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl combine pork, breadcrumbs/egg, spices, and cheese.

  2. Mash with a fork until somewhat pasty

  3. Add shredded apple and form patties with your hands.

  4. The great thing about this recipe is that it can be cooked in any way you want. They are great in the oven, fried, or grilled on the bbq.

  5. Oven:

  6. Preheat oven to 400F and bake for 25-30 minutes or until centres are not pink.

  7. BBQ: add bbq sauce if desired and grill for 5-10 minutes each side.

  8. Stovetop: Place burgers in a circle in the pan and cook on high heat for 5 mins, then turn heat down to med and cook for about 10 munites, or until centres are not pink.
