Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1 can (15 oz) pure pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then, stir in the evaporated milk until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Pour the pumpkin filling into the unbaked pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then, reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 40-45 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack. Serve chilled or at room temperature, optionally topped with whipped cream.
