These loaded s’mores bars still have all of the great flavors of a s’more, but eating them is much easier and the treat is more approacable. When you eat a typical campfire s’more your hands get covered in marshmallow, and you probably get chocolate on your face, and the Graham cracker is crumbling, and it’s a whole ordeal. With these loaded s’mores bars there is none of that hastle. The bars are the perfect size to eat carefully and the ingredients all being in small bite sizes help to make the eating experience enjoyable.
I particularly like the Golden Grahams in these loaded s’mores bars as opposed to regular Graham crackers. The golden Grahams not only look great in these loaded s’mores bars, but they also have an awesome flavor and are the perfect size to bind the ingredients in this treat together.
For this recipe, I didn’t include how many mini marshmallows to add on top because everyone has their own preferences and can add as many or as little as they want. I personally like to do a heavy shake of the marshmallow bag over my loaded s’mores bars before throwing the pan into the oven for a quick broil. I love seeing the mini marshmallows puff up and get that quintessential golden toasted marshmallow color.
For chocolate, I used classic Hershey’s milk chocolate as I think it’s the most nostalgic s’mores chocolate, but agian you are making your own loaded s’mores bars so make them whichever way you like it. You could add dark chocolate instead or even play with different flavors of chocolate like sea salt caramel or cookies and crème.
I love making these loaded s’mores bars when I’m at school because they give me a reminder of summer and I don’t need to go through the struggle of making real s’mores. Anytime I’ve made these loaded s’mores bars for anyone they have been a huge hit and people have been shocked by how easy they are to make.
My roommates love them and they are always gone within a few hours of me making them. The marshmallow is similarly gooey to a real s’more but because it’s cooled it’s not sticky and the eating experience is much more enjoyable. Next time you are craving a s’more, but think you can’t have one because you aren’t around a campfire, think again. These loaded s’mores bars are easy and delicious.
