1. Tip the chickpeas into a sieve and run cold water over them. Drain and transfer to a food processer or blender
2. Add the garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, pinch of black pepper and ground cumin and blend together. Check the taste and alter the seasoning if desired. If the mixture is a little thick add 1 or 2 teaspoons of hot water until the mixture is at the desired consistancy.
3. Spoon the hummus into a dish and scatter with sesame seeds (if using) and chill in the fridge until you are ready to serve it.
