2. Add the garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, pinch of black pepper and ground cumin and blend together. Check the taste and alter the seasoning if desired. If the mixture is a little thick add 1 or 2 teaspoons of hot water until the mixture is at the desired consistancy.

3. Spoon the hummus into a dish and scatter with sesame seeds (if using) and chill in the fridge until you are ready to serve it.
