Step 1:

  • 1. Slice the mushrooms into quarters (slice more if larger, less if smaller).
  • Step 2:

  • 2. Melt 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of margarine/butter in a pan.
  • Step 3:

  • 3. Put your bread in the toaster.
  • Step 4:

  • 4. Put the mushrooms in the pan with the margarine/butter, cook on a low-medium heat. If you’re using a raw meat such as bacon, put this in now.
  • Step 5:

  • 5. Season the mushrooms with 1/2 teaspoon of mixed herbs, a few grinds of black pepper and a pinch of salt.
  • Step 6:

  • 6. If using a precooked meat such as ham or chorizo, add it to the pan now.
  • Step 7:

  • 7. When the mushrooms are dark gold-brown and your meat is cooked, put your toast on a plate. Top it with the meat, then mushrooms and pour any leftover margarine/butter onto the toast.
