Ingredients

  • 1 desert spoon of golden syrup
  • 2 and a half ounces of butter
  • 2 ounces of caster sugar
  • 1 and a half ounces of porridge oats
  • 1 ounce of dessicated coconut
  • 2 ounces of plain flour
  • 1 level tablespoon of bicarbinate soda

Instructions

  1. * put syrup, butter and sugar into a pan and melt over a low heat

  2. * stir in the dry ingredients

  3. * dissolve the bicarb soda in half a tablespoon of hot water and then add to mixture

  4. * leave mixture to cool for 5 mins

  5. * divide mixture up into small balls

  6. * place on baking tray and flatten into biscuit shape

  7. * bake for 20 mins – or until golden brown

  8. * oven should be at about 170 degrees
