Step 1:

  • If you haven’t heard of Carrs sauce flour, then try it! It cost about 50-60p per bag, and is a vital ingrediant in all my white-sauce based recipes.

  • put sauce flour and milk in a saucepan over a med. heat and stir until it comes to the boil and thicken. This takes about 5-6 mins.

  • once you have made the basic sauce then you can add stuff like parsley, cheese, bread etc.

  • This can also be used to make a sweet sauce.

  • But best thing about this flour is that you don’t have to use all milk.

  • You can use half milk half water. So you can use the water your veg have been cooking in for extra tasty sauce!

  • You may also notice there is no butter, so there’s no standing at the stove for hours trying to make a roux, then adding the milk drip by drip!
