- Melt butter in a saucepan on medium heat.
- Add flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring all the time.
- Take off the heat, add the milk a little at a time, stirring (or whisking) each time, to make smooth.
- Bring to the boil when all the milk has been added.
- Keep stirring, then turn down the heat until it's simmering.
- Cook for 2 minutes, stirring the whole time.
- Take off the heat, add cheese and stir until melted. The sauce should thicken.
- Add pepper to taste (optional)
Once you've drained your pasta, simply put the pasta back into the warm pan and add the sauce. Place back on the hob for a few minutes, stirring all the time, letting it heat up.
Serve immediately!

I enjoyed it was really nice cooked it for one so halved it and halved again it was nice but didn't fill me up i would advice doing a bit more if your having it for one
Just had this with pasta for my lunch, it was lovely i really enjoyed it, i added a little chopped chorizo and ham which i cooked slighty to give the sauce a smocky tone which just made it an amazing filling lunch.
Which flour?
Just made this! We added heaps of veggies and some bacon bits, it was divine! :)
Wow! Never knew cheese sauce could be so easy!
This recipe was so easy and so yummy! I added green onions, red pepper and garlic seasoning, as well as sunflower seeds for a bit of texture. It was so good!
This sauce is really nice, good with ham and mushroom, good for a quick and easy meal :)

Was really worried about microwaving onions but it really works. Tasted great. You can buy heinz baked beans with italian herbs already in them which helps if you don't have a cupboard full of spices.
I was rumaging through the cupboards yesterday because I was sick of having sandwiches and this was a really good quick recipe that tasted amazing! :D
