Cheap Pasta Meal

A quick cheap pasta meal for when the cash runs dry



  • 1 tin of tomato soup, Tesco Value works well
  • 1 clove of garlic OR 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried mixed herbs
  • 1 tsp chili powder (Optional)
  • Handful of grated cheese (Optional)
  • Pasta
  • To make more special choose any combination of the following or create your own:
  • 3 Frankfurters (sliced)
  • 1 tin of tuna
  • Sweetcorn
  • Mushrooms
  • Bacon
  • Sausages


1- Put the water for pasta on the hob to boil.

2-In a saucepan, fry the garlic (And the frankfurters, bacon, sausages, mushrooms if used) in a oil until browned

3- Add the herbs (and chili powder), and then pour in the tomato soup

4-Simmer on hob for 5 mins, meanwhile cook pasta according to pack instructions.

5- At this point, the sweetcorn and tuna can be added if desired, and the cheese can be stirred in

6-Simmer until pasta is cooked, and serve with the pasta
