Ingredients

  • Pea soup uncooked – 500 ml (2 cups)
  • water for soaking
  • broth of your choice – 3 l (12 cups)
  • non-hydrogenated margarine nuvel -15 ml (1 tbsp)
  • onion, chopped – 1
  • celery cut diagonally – 1 branch
  • carrot into small pieces – 1
  • bay leaf
  • ground savory – 2 ml (1/2 tsp)
  • ham into small cubes – 60 ml (1/4 cup)
  • pepper, salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Put the peas into a bowl and cover with water

  2. soak peas 6 to 8 hours or overnight

  3. discard the soaking water

  4. mix in a salad bowl the first ingredients

  5. add the peas and remaining ingredients in a saucepan

  6. cover and simmer about 3 hours

  7. serve
