Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes
  • A handful of cheese for each pitta
  • As many pittas as you can manage
  • Smoked sausage (optional)
  • Some tomato ketchup

Instructions

  1. Dice the onion and fry it in the butter and sugar.

  2. Once the onions are sticky, add the chopped tomatoes, ketchup, salt, pepper, and diced smoked sausage and simmer on medium heat.

  3. While the sauce is thickening, put the pittas in the oven and crisp up slightly.

  4. Once the sauce has thickened and the pittas have crisped, it’s time to assemble the pizzas.

  5. Spoon the homemade sauce onto the pittas, add sliced smoked sausage, and top with cheese, place in the oven until the cheese has melted and browned slightly.
