Mug Muffin

Quick, easy and oh so divine!



  • ~4 Tablespoons each of sugar, flour, milk and cooking oil
  • ~3 Tablespoons Cocoa powder
  • ~1 egg
  • *Chocolate chips are optional for extra mmmmmmmm!


Mix all ingredients together and microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, depending on your microwave... You can make it a solid muffin or reduce the time slightly to create a soft centre and therefore creating a chocolate pudding worthy of the Ritz!

This makes a HUGE muffin, so I normally divide the mixture in half (half makes a rather large muffin) and put the other half in the fridge for another time.... Try it and you'll crave it most days!

    Didn't work. Did not cook and it was mushy and tasted bad. Would not use this recipe again.

    Attempt Number 1 - Did you use self raising flower? Mine turning out all jellowy. It also took around 6 minutes to cook, though I guess it depends allot on your mug/microwave.

    Attempt NUmber 2 (with backing soda) - lovely! TAstes delicious too, though the bottom burnt a bit ^^ Definetly reccomend it.

    Not much tast and I'd recommend only putting it in the microwave for 2min

    For some extra yummy, try to sink a teaspoon of your favorite jelly or marmalade fairly deep into the center of the mug for a creamy filling. =)

    I halved the recipe, added smarties instead of choc chips and yet still had to have half the mix in one cup xd

    Done exactly what you said with added chocolate chips and it was really yummy! I used sunflower oil with cadbury hot choclate powder. :) it was hugeee!

    I have tried it and i replaced cocca powder with coffee and banana.But coffee tastes more than banana.But it's ok.My kids love it.

    I use powdered milk instead of the liquid type. I would recommend it if you want a more solid outcome. I also add a dash of coffee powder and some salt. It's perfect.

    if you have extra time try:
    replacing cocoa powder with melted cadburry milk chocolate (google instructions for proper chocolate melting-something like putting a chunk on a small sauce bowl and submurge it halfway on a bigger bowl filled with hot water). You can also try dark chocolate. (i combine both one time and the result is heavenly!)
    -i also tried crushed koko crunch. Works just fine! :)
    -and follow the previous comments saying they use butter instead of oil.

    Yummy! Butter instead of oil! I have made these a number of times for a quick fix, and it has never failed to be beyond awesome. And so easy at that! The perfect recipe.
