Rich and tasty steak

A fancy, tasty steak that’s easy to cook
Difficulty Level: easy
Ingredients
- 1 Rump/Casserole Steak (2 for £4 in Tesco)
- 1 Red or Green pepper
- 1 Onion
- 4-5 Small Mushrooms
- Soy Sauce
- Worcester Sauce
Instructions
Cut the mushrooms into thin slices, and dice the onion and peppers.
Fry the steak and mushrooms in a pan on a Medium/High heat, depending on your liking. I personally go for a medium/Well done steak.
Rare/Medium steak usually requires 3-4 minutes PER SIDE.
Medium/Med Well steak usually requires 5-7 minutes PER SIDE.
Well done steak usually requires 7-10 minutes PER SIDE.
As the steak is cooking, sprinkle with black pepper.
Several minutes before the steak is done (See the guide above) add the peppers and onions. Allow to fry together to blend in taste, add some more black pepper to the veg if desired.
Mix a shot class (Your a poor student if you dont have one) With 2/3 soy sauce and 1/3 worcester sauce, and pour over the vegetables. (Note: If pan is on max temperature the sauce will just burn up and dry out.)
You will get a nice mixture of the steak + vegetable juice with this sauce.
When the steak is finished, Serve on a plate and place the onions, peppers and mushrooms on top, the remainder of the sauce should just drizzle over everything you’ve served.
Sprinkle with a pinch more of black pepper.
You now have a nice a la carte looking dish, ideal with chunky fries!!
Note: Add as much mushrooms/peppers/onions as you like to the dish, just make a bit more sauce to compensate!!
