Super cheap, super tasty.
Ingredients
Instructions
STEP 1:
Peel and dice your onions
STEP 2:
Peel and thinly slice your garlic cloves
STEP 3:
Get your sausages: now you can either heat them in a frying pan with a glug of oil with the onions and garlic, or if you’re using loads (like this version) set them out in a baking tray brushed with a fair bit of oil, place the onions and garlic on top, and bake them in a preheated oven for about 20 mins on medium heat.
STEP 4:
STEP 5:
Whilst heating your sausages, pour your passata and beans into a large casserole dish (usually made of glass). You might need two for this recipe.
STEP 6:
STEP 7:
Sprinkle in some chilli and pepper to taste, the spoonful of sugar, then add (if you wish) a glob of mustard, and stir it all up.
STEP 8:
STEP 9:
Remove your onions, garlic and sausages from the oven and spoon into the saucy mix.
STEP 10:
STEP 11:
Put the lid on the dish, and bake at medium heat for an hour.
STEP 12:
STEP 13:
Best served in my opinion, of a bed of mashed potato. YUM!

Also, this is really easy to whack in the fridge when cool and reheat, or freeze to eat later in the week. The sauce tastes great on toast, or with pasta too 😀 enjoy.
