Step 1:

  • so you could buy a stew vegetable pack for as little as a pound at your local supermarket or simply buy your vegetables to your liking personally I use the pack as it has everything in there and is much easier.
  • Step 2:

  • Step 3:

  • start by peeling your potatoes, depending on how many you’re serving/ how long you’re wanting it too last, I usually use 4-5 potatoes, if you’re using swede and/or carrots you’ll want to use these now too after cutting them, I usually dice the swede and chop the carrots.
  • Step 4:

  • Step 5:

  • Cover with water and boil, mixing in a stock cube, leave to boil or simmer depending on how much time you have doesn’t matter which, leave for 20-30 minutes, by then your potatoes etc will be almost boiled.
  • Step 6:

  • Step 7:

  • slice/dice then add your meat to the stock, you can put it in raw ( gives it more of a taste ) whatever you use you’ll notice it wont take too long to gain its colour ( you can buy frozen cooked meat if you prefer)
  • Step 8:

  • Step 9:

  • add everything else to your stock (onions/leeks/whatever else you want to throw in) then leave to boil/simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Step 10:

  • Step 11:

  • if you’re wanting to thicken it up you can add cornflour to your stock
