STEP 1:

custard
milk
sugar

Mix custard powder, sugar and milk together until sugar is dissolved.

STEP 2:

butter

heat up a little oil/butter in frying pan.

STEP 3:

bread
custard

dip each side of bread slice into custard slurry, but do it very quickly so the middle of the bread doesn’t go soggy. Place into hot pan and cook on each side until golden and crisped.

STEP 4:

banana
custard

another nice way to do it is to make a banana sandwich and dip that into the mixture, then it is like bananas and custard!

honey
jam

the toast is now ready, eat on its own or with some honey or a sprinkling of cinnamon. Or jam. Or aaaanything.

ps, if the bread seems to be sticking to the pan, don’t panic. Just leave it a few seconds for the coating to set then slide it about a bit in the oil. It will be sticky at first but will sort itself out.
