Homemade Cheese

In just 3 ingredients



  • 1 gallon milk
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 1 kitchen towel
  • salt to taste


Boil milk stirring continuously . When it is about to boil add lemon juice and turn off the flame after 30 seconds and continue stirring it .Drain that milk after it is on room temperature through kitchen towel . Squeeze excess of milk , sprinkle some salt on top and tightly wrap it in the kitchen towel .Hang it somewhere for 20-30 minutes.Enjoy !!

    When i made this, it went bad after a few days, and so once i drained the milky-water, i put some cold water (no ice), into the butter, and stirred and mashed it, slowly the clear water becomes milky. I re-do this a few times, till the water comes out as clear as possible. After that i dried it, sprinkled some salt, and kept it in the butter jar. It lasted a week or 2. I loved this recipe. Also, the 2nd time i had made this, after i dried the butter, i added some minced garlic,parmesan cheese,garlic salt,italian seasoning, and some salt and pepper to taste, and got some really great, garlic butter :)
