Kenyan Chappatis

Kenyan flat bread, good for snack or as side dish



  • 2kg plain wheat flour
  • 1/2 litre lukewarm water
  • 1/4 litre milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 litre of sunflower/vegetable oil


1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.

2. Knead the dough.

3. Roll the dough out into a large circle, smear oil over the dough, fold it in half and roll again.

4. Cut into strips and roll up into little balls.

5. Roll out balls into small circles.

6. Fry on a medium heat until brown on both sides with a little oil.

7. Serve hot.
