Sweet Eggy Bread

French toast, the right way!

  • Bread
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Sugar
  • Butter (for cooking it in)

First, get a bowl and crack between 2 and 4 eggs in it. Add a splash of milk and between 2 and 4 teaspoons of sugar (it depends how sweet you want it). Mix it all together with a fork, until you have a sticky creamy-yellow coloured liquid. Don't worry about eggy lumps!

Take your slices of bread and put them in your mixture. Push them down so that they soak it all up and turn them over. Make sure they are completely covered!

Heat up some butter in a pan on the hob. Have it on the same heat you would use to boil an egg. Then put the bread in and fry it. When it goes a nice browny colour, turn it over and cook the other side. Do this with all you bread.

Put you bread on a plate and sprinkle some sugar over the top. And voila! This is how the French do their French toast and it is absolutely gorgeous and so quick and easy, if a bit sticky!

Instead of using sugar just cook the standard eggy bread but spread Bramble Jelly or Jam on top!! one taste sensation!

One of the yummiest foods in the world. The only thing though is that i always sprinkle a few big heaped tablespoons of icing sugar at the end so it is super sweet and yummy!
