Spaghetti Carbonara

Ingredients

  • A decent handful of spaghetti
  • 1-2 slices of bacon
  • 60ml (4 tbsp) cream
  • 40g (1 1/2oz) cheese
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

  1. Start boiling up the spaghetti

  2. While that’s doing, use some scissors to chop up your bacon

  3. Add a drop of oil to a pan and fry the bacon

  4. Add the cream, cheese and egg to a bowl and mix; separate the white from the yolk with an egg strainer (or a fork). You can use the leftover white in omelettes, etc..

  5. When the spaghetti is cooked (10-15 minutes after you put it in) drain it, then put it back in the pan.

  6. Add the bacon and sauce.

  7. Keep stirring it for a minute or two. The heat of the pasta cooks the egg. Make sure the egg doesn’t scramble into lumps.

  8. Enjoy!
