Step 1:

  • Chop up the onion, swede, and carrot.
  • Step 2:

  • Put the onion in a saucepan for 3 minutes or until it starts browning
  • Step 3:

  • (tip fry on high heat and add a little water, saves money on oil and browns onions easily!)
  • Step 4:

  • Add the swede and carrot, and cook these for another 3 minutes
  • Step 5:

  • Add the tin of tomatoes, seasonings, and water to the top, depending on how large the pan is
  • Step 6:

  • Then simply leave it on a simmer for about 20 minutes to an hour depending on how much time you have
  • Step 7:

  • Add more water if needed during the cooking process
  • Step 8:

  • Blend the soup with a blender or stick blender
  • Step 9:

  • Water can still be added now if needed to thin the soup
  • Step 10:

  • (You can do the same process using less water to make a sauce for pasta or rice)
  • Step 11:
