Step 1:
Chop up the onion, swede and carrot. Step 2:
Put the onion in a saucepan for 3 minutes or until it starts browning Step 3:
(tip fry on a high heat and add a little water, saves money on oil and browns onions easily!) Step 4:
Add the swede and carrot, cook these for another 3 minutes Step 5:
Add the tin of tomatoes, seasonings and water to the top, depending on how large the pan is Step 6:
Then simply leave on a simmer for about 20 minutes to an hour depending on how much time you have Step 7:
Add more water if neededduring the cooking process Step 8:
Blend the soup with a blender or stick blender Step 9:
Water can still be added now if needed to thin the soup Step 10:
(You can do the same process using less water to make a sauce for pasta or rice)
