Step 1:

  • Put the spaghetti on to boil.
  • Step 2:

  • Meanwhile, pour a small glug of olive oil in a saucepan.
  • Step 3:

  • Fry off the chopped onion for a few minutes until it gets a little softer and add the grated garlic.
  • Step 4:

  • Squeeze in a very large amount of tomato puree (I usually use about 2/3 of a tube).
  • Step 5:

  • Add a teaspoon of caster sugar (or granulated if that’s all you have).
  • Step 6:

  • Put in a good pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Step 7:

  • Mix well and wait until it’s fully heated through.
  • Step 8:

  • Drain off the spaghetti, add the sauce and ENJOY!
