Step 1: Put the spaghetti on to boil.
Step 2: Meanwhile, pour a small glug of olive oil in a saucepan.
Step 3: Fry off the chopped onion for a few minutes until it gets a little softer and add the grated garlic.
Step 4: Squeeze in a very large amount of tomato puree (I usually use about 2/3 of a tube).
Step 5: Add a teaspoon of caster sugar (or granulated if that’s all you have).
Step 6: Put in a good pinch of salt and pepper.
Step 7: Mix well and wait until it’s fully heated through.
Step 8: Drain off the spaghetti, add the sauce and ENJOY!
