Tangy Lemon Rice Easy Vegetarian Recipe
Lemon rice, a south indian cuisine
1.In a large pan, wash and boil rice with 12 cups of water and a tsp of salt. Strain rice when cooked and discard the excess water.Do not let the rice overcook. Spread the rice on a big plate to let them cool and stop cooking.
2.In a bowl, mix salt and sugar, lemon juice, turmeric powder together.
3. Heat oil in kadhai. Lower the flame to medium and add mustard seeds, dal and red chillies. Let it cook till dal starts to change colour. Add curry leaves and lemon juice mixture with 1/2 cup of water. Cover and let it cook till dal is soft and water is almost evaporated.
4. Add cooked rice and mix gently and serve hot.
