Step 1:

  • 1. Finely chop the onion, add the olive oil to a large frying pan/ pan put on medium-high heat.
  • Step 2:

  • 2. Add the onion stirring regularly to ensure it does not burn, cook until the onion becomes golden/ brown.
  • Step 3:

  • 3. Add the mince to the pan seperating it and stirring it regularly.
  • Step 4:

  • 4. Whilst the mince is browning in the pan, roughly chop the garlic cloves and add to the pan.
  • Step 5:

  • 5. Once the mince is all brown and there is no sign of pinkness, add the carton of chopped tomatos mix in then add the ragu sauce once simmering leave for 5 minutes.
  • Step 6:

  • 6. Boil the kettle and add boiling water to a separate pan and the pasta to the pan and put on medium heat.
  • Step 7:

  • 7. Stir the bolognese sauce frequently and cook for a further 15 minutes.
  • Step 8:

  • 8. Once the pasta is cooked (which usually takes 8-12 minutes) drain and place on a plate.
  • Step 9:

  • 9. Ladel some of the bolognese sauce on top and serve :)!

  • This recipe makes a large vat of bolognese which once cooled can be stored in the fridge for around 3 days. Reheat in batchs. Enjoy!!!
