Step 1:

  • This recipe is all about the prep, you get that done first, then this will be a breeze.

  • first take the steaks out of the fridge and leave them to get to room temperature. (15-30 mins)

  • chop up the garlic and the chilli.
  • Step 6:

  • put the chopped up pieces in a bowl and add a dash of rock salt,
  • Step 7:

  • with a wooden spoon crush up all this together so it brings the flavour out of the spice.

  • chop up the steaks into thin slices and add salt.

  • in a frying pan add olive oil and leave it on medium heat.
  • Step 12:

  • when the pan has heated up add the crushed garlic and chilli.
  • Step 13:

  • after 2 minutes add the steak and cook till lightly browned. (can still see a little pit of pink)
  • Step 14:

  • turn the temperature down.
  • Step 15:

  • add a tablespoon of each the oyster, soy and fish sauce.
  • Step 16:

  • add the basil and the green beans.
  • Step 17:

  • as the sauce reduces, cook the rice and hey presto you are done!
