Trying the Joe and the Juice Tunacado at Home
Have you seen the Joe and the Juice Tunacado all over your feed, but don’t have a location near you? Try this Joe and the Juice Tunacado at home.
Start by cutting your ciabatta in half and toasting
In a small bowl combine well rinsed and drained tuna, Mayo, salt, pepper, chopped chives, chopped dill, and lemon juice. Mix until completely combined
Once the bread is toasted, spoon a generous amount of pesto onto each half of your ciabatta and spread evenly.
Place tuna mixture on top of one half of your bread and spread it evenly.
Top with sliced tomatoes, avocado, spinach, and Tabasco.
Close the other piece of ciabatta over the loaded side and press down in the sandwich to compress.
Eat as is or wrap in parchment to eat just like Joe and the Juice.
Joe and the Juice has been around for a while, but with their Tunacado sandwich going viral on TikTok they have been seeing a lot more hype surrounding their juice chain.
Joe and the Juice got their start in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2002. The juice company was started by Kaspar Basse and they sell much more than juice now. The growing food chain sells coffee, tea, juice, smoothies, veggie shots, and of course sandwiches. They have 69 locations in the US now primarily in California and New York with a few in Florida’s city of Miami and Chicago, Illinois.
When I saw the Joe and the Juice Tunacado going viral on TikTok I knew I had to try it, but there weren’t any locations near me. I wasn’t going to let that stop me though, I did my research and discovered how to make the best Joe and the Juice Tunacado at home.
The most revolutionary part of the Joe and the Juice Tunacado for me is the herbs in the tuna. Typically when I make tuna salad for a sandwich I make it with pretty standard ingredients. Mayo, celery, onion, salt, pepper, and a bit of red wine vinegar. After trying the Joe and the Juice Tunacado I will never make tuna that way again.
The flavors from the dill and the chives are so bright they lift up the whole sandwich. The Joe and the Juice Tunacado has everything you need for a great sandwich. There is protein in the tuna, carbs in the ciabatta, healthy fat in the avocado, iron in the spinach, and so many other great nutrients in the tomato, pesto, and herbs. After eating the Joe and the Juice Tunacado I was left feeling satiated and healthy.
To make the Joe and the Juice Tunacado at home you could certainly make your own fresh pesto(that’s what Joe and the Juice does) but I decided to cut a corner and buy this Buitoni pesto with basil from the store because it is almost as good as fresh pesto and that much easier.
