Step 1:

  • Boil the pasta in a pan, add a spoon of salt and a bit of olive oil
  • Step 2:

  • in a second pan heat some olive oil and add a level spoon of cumin seeds.
  • Step 3:

  • add the onions and when they start to go brown add the sweetcorn
  • Step 4:

  • sweetcorn doesn’t need much cooking so put in the pasta sauce soon after.
  • Step 5:

  • i blend the sauce before because shop-made always has huge chunks in them.
  • Step 6:

  • add a spoon of salt and a spoon of pepper and stir the sauce well. Leave it on a low heat.
  • Step 7:

  • by now the pasta should be cooked. Transfer the pasta into the sauce.

  • top tip: do not completely drain the pasta! The water that the pasta is boiled in is extremely vital and changes the whole flavour so be sure to pour some in too. I always add a little extra than you need.

  • stir the pasta and the sauce together and leave on a low heat so that any excess water evaporates.I think it turns out better if its not too dry though.
  • Step 12:

  • sprinkle some cheese on top and some fresh basil if you have any :p yum
