Wendy’s is testing Dill Pickle Shaker Fries in Canada, giving pickle fans a new fry flavor built around a simple idea: add seasoning, close the bag, and shake.
Wendy’s Canada announced the new fries as part of a limited-time pickle lineup that became available nationwide in Canada in June, 2026.
According to Wendy’s Canada, the lineup also includes a Dill Pickle Chicken Sandwich and Dill Pickle Dipping Sauce. The fries use Wendy’s Hot & Crispy fries with a tangy dill seasoning, which is where the “shaker” part comes in.
Delish reported that the fries come with a dill pickle seasoning packet that customers pour into the bag before shaking everything together.
In the same report, U.S. fast-food fans were already asking why the pickle-seasoned fries weren’t available everywhere else yet.

Why people are comparing them to McDonald’s Grinch Fries
McDonald’s already had a viral pickle fry moment. McDonald’s USA said its Grinch Meal, which launched Dec, 2025, featured Dill Pickle “Grinch Salt” McShaker Fries.
That version used a dill pickle seasoning added to a McShaker bag, then shaken with McDonald’s fries. It’s the same idea, just a different chain.
Delish stated that online commenters were quick to compare Wendy’s version to McDonald’s Grinch fries, with one person saying Wendy’s fries were “IDENTICAL to grinch fries and SO good.”

The internet wants them in the United States
Fan reaction has been pretty clear. Commenters were begging for the fries to come to America, including one who wrote, “America needs this ASAP!!!!”
Wendy’s Canada says the fries are available at participating Canadian restaurants while supplies last, and Wendy’s has not announced a stateside launch.
The new pickle craze is hard to miss. Almost every fast-food restaurant seems to have some sort of pickle item now, from deep-fried pickles to pickle juice flavors. If you like that sharp, salty pickle taste, this is your time. It’ll be interesting to see what big food craze hits fast food next.
