Plain Sponge Cake

A really delicious, scrumptious recipe for cake lovers.

Ingredients

  • 4oz/100g self-raising flour
  • 4oz/100g sugar (normal should be fine)
  • 4oz/100g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • or
  • 4oz/100g plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4oz/100g sugar (normal should be fine)
  • 4oz/100g butter
  • 2 eggs

Method

Whisk the butter and sugar.

add the eggs then flour.

mix to get a creamy batter.

put it in a cake tin with baking paper.

put it in the oven for 18-20 minutes on 200'c or more.

    Add nuts and small bits of chocolate like from snickers and it is yummy

    It's really nice. I made it for my friends birthday. For the icing I just made it with icing sugar and water and then added sprinkles on the top. Recommended for cake lovers.

    i tried it as my first baking experience. It was too good in taste. I kept it in oven for 30 minutes. 100'c for last 10 min & 200'c for first 20 min
