Salt and Pepper Pork Ingredients

  • 1 lb of pork tenderloin, cut into thin strips (450g)
  • 1/2 cup of cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 red chili, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Salt and Pepper Pork Instructions

  1. Start by slicing the pork tenderloin into thin, even strips, about 1/2 inch wide. Keeping the pieces close in size will help them cook evenly.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together the cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and white pepper.
  3. Add the pork strips and toss well until each piece is fully coated.
  4. Pour enough vegetable oil into a deep frying pan or wok for frying, then heat it over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). If needed, test the oil with a small piece of bread. It should bubble right away and turn golden in about 15 seconds.
  5. Fry the pork in batches so the pan does not get overcrowded. Cook each batch for 4 minutes, or until the pork is crisp and cooked through.
  6. Transfer the cooked pork to paper towels to drain.
  7. In a separate large skillet, warm 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook briefly for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
  8. Add the sliced green onions, red chili, and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for around 2 minutes, until the vegetables begin to soften but still keep a little bite.
  9. Return the fried pork to the skillet and toss everything together.
  10. Drizzle in the soy sauce and stir well so the pork and vegetables are evenly coated. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  11. Serve straight away while hot.
