Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the warmed milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until the dough comes together, then knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border along the edges.
- Starting from the long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal slices and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let the rolls rise for 30–40 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve. Enjoy!
