Dunkin’ Donuts has rolled out a headline partnership with singer Megan Thee Stallion to promote its new Protein Milk lineup.

This includes five new drinks, one of which is celebrity-linked. Plus, Protein Milk is available across drinks that normally take milk or a non-dairy option.

People Magazine reported that this new option comes with Dunkin’s fitness-themed push called “Dunk N’ Pump.” Megan Thee Stallion takes the lead in a retro workout video full of bright colors and energy. The YouTube video is worth a watch.

This protein twist comes at a time when fast-food restaurants are turning to protein. We’ve seen Subway do it with its athletes-inspired menu, and Chipotle lean into it recently. However, Dunkin’ Donuts’ reaction is most likely in response to Starbucks’ protein push.

The Protein Milk lineup

The rollout includes five featured drinks that all land at 15 grams of protein in a medium. They include:

  • Megan’s Mango Protein Refresher
  • Strawberry Protein Refresher
  • Caramel Chocolate Iced Protein Latte
  • Almond Iced Protein Matcha Latte
  • Iced Protein Latte with Sugar-Free Vanilla

The hope is that Megan’s name will drive interest. She’s a three-time Grammy winner and has been open about fitness and how it ties into mental health. This potentially gives the campaign a little more weight than a standard cameo.

The new drink lineup is labeled as treats, so people watching sugar and calories should make sure they fit into their daily allowances. The sugar-free vanilla option is there for a reason.

Additionally, the Protein Milk option is available across the following:

  • Hot or iced coffee drinks
  • Lattes and macchiatos
  • Matcha drinks
  • Refreshers (the fruit-based ones)

According to Nation’s Restaurant News, the Protein Milk add-in is priced as an upcharge of $1 to $2, depending on the drink and its size.
