Tater Tot Casserole Ingredients
- 1 lb of ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of black pepper
- 1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, 10.5 oz
- 1/2 cup of sour cream
- 1 can of corn, 15 oz, drained
- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 bag of frozen tater tots, 32 oz
- 2 tbsp of chopped green onions or chives, for topping
Tater Tot Casserole Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Add the ground beef and diced onion to a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook for 8 minutes, breaking up the beef as it browns. Drain any extra grease from the skillet.
- Stir in the garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, corn, and 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the skillet. Stir until the beef mixture is creamy and well combined.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the filling.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
- Bake uncovered for 35 minutes.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
- Bake for another 10 minutes, or until the tots are golden and the cheese is melted.
- Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Top with chopped green onions or chives.
