Tater Tot Casserole Ingredients

  • 1 lb of ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper
  • 1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, 10.5 oz
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1 can of corn, 15 oz, drained
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 bag of frozen tater tots, 32 oz
  • 2 tbsp of chopped green onions or chives, for topping

Tater Tot Casserole Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Add the ground beef and diced onion to a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook for 8 minutes, breaking up the beef as it browns. Drain any extra grease from the skillet.
  5. Stir in the garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute.
  6. Add the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, corn, and 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the skillet. Stir until the beef mixture is creamy and well combined.
  7. Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the filling.
  9. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
  10. Bake uncovered for 35 minutes.
  11. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
  12. Bake for another 10 minutes, or until the tots are golden and the cheese is melted.
  13. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  14. Top with chopped green onions or chives.
